About BiblicalCulture

BiblicalCulture is a website dedicated to helping make biblical literacy a cultural norm by providing accurate interpretation of the Bible and by addressing cultural issues from a biblical perspective.

In addition to making biblical literacy a cultural norm, the goal of this website is to offer biblical interpretation that is slightly more in-depth and technical than what one would find on most blogs or websites, but not so advanced that the average person will not understand or get bored. As such, I do my best to stick to the biblical text and limit referencing to secondary sources.

The need for a website like BiblicalCulture.com has been a long time coming. Throughout my Bible college and seminary days, I was constantly asked my opinion on biblical topics and cultural issues. I was always happy to respond and state what Scripture had to say on the issue. Further, after entering my first tertiary teaching position, I was astounded at how little my students knew and understood the Bible. It wasn’t long before I was inundated with questions about the Bible, its meaning, and its application. Though it was my job to answer these questions, there were simply too many questions to give adequate attention to each one. BiblicalCulture.com would have been a great one-stop resource for my friends, students, and acquaintances.

BiblicalCulture was finally launched December 1, 2022 thanks to my friend Dace (dailypastor.com) who inspired and encouraged me to launch this website and help all people better understand the Bible, which is the Word of God.

About Me (Adam Robinson)

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home. However, it wasn’t until I was 19 that I repented of my sin and believed in Jesus, that he is fully God and fully man, died on the cross taking the punishment for my sins, rose from the dead three days later, and ascended to the right hand of God the Father.

A few years later, I felt the call to pastoral ministry. So, at the behest of my mentor who was an elder in my church, I entered Bible College at Malyon Theological College in Brisbane, Australia. Upon graduating with my Bachelor of Theology (BTh), I moved to Texas, USA and entered Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I graduated with my Advanced Master of Divinity in biblical languages and biblical theology (AdvMDiv) degree and my PhD in New Testament with a minor in Old Testament.

Shortly after graduation, the Lord called me to teach the Bible at the tertiary level in Australia (my home country). Sadly, two of the three institutions closed their doors. After losing my third teaching job because the institution closed its doors and merged with a larger institution, I realised that the Lord was leading me out of the academy and into pastoral ministry to fulfil the original calling the Lord placed on my life.

In January of 2024, I accepted the call to be the teaching/preaching pastor of a small church in rural Queensland, Australia. Although small in number, the church is big in faith, love, and hope (1 Cor 13:13; 1 Thess 1:3; 5:8; 2 Thess 1:3). To supplement my income, the Lord blessed me with a job as the chaplain and teacher aide at the local Christian school. I work there five days a week.

I have been married to Sarah since 2012. She has been a great source of encouragement and motivation, especially through the uncertain times. The Lord has also used her greatly in helping me maintain my integrity and fidelity to biblical truth. It is common in the academic world to make small compromises in order to get jobs and publish. I committed to never making these small compromises and Sarah has been my conscience when I have been tempted in this area. We have five wonderful children with the hopes of adding more (but you knew that didn’t you, because you read my article on this very topic)!
